If you are exploring your options for photos, I would take a look at Olmstead State Park. It is open year round and a very fun location with lots of options. Below are just some of the things I love about his place.

Olmstead State Park has beautiful foliage

In the summer this place is pretty green. They maintain the grounds well and have lots of things growing. There is grass, trees, garden, and sometimes flowers (depends if you come when they are in bloom). There are cute pathways that weave you throughout the front of the property. Then there are some open spaces that allow kids to run. Even the pathways are fun for kids to explore.

A variety of backdrops

Some of my most favorite parts that are unique to Olmstead State Park are the wooden archway, barn with a field, big trees, garden, house, rustic fencing, lots of cute smaller shed/buildings, gravel pathways, etc. I love that they have kept the true homestead feeling on this property. You basically come out to the yard with the garden (vegetable and floral) nearby. The barn is out back with a large field around it. Let's not forget the sun setting behind the barn. It's gorgeous and you feel at home!

In the Kittitas Valley

This beautiful location is located in your one and only Kittitas Valley, so close to home for all you Ellensburg, Cle Elum, Selah and Kittitas families. Pack a picnic and lets head a few miles over to this historic farm.

What are the conveniences?

First off, this place is pretty easy to find and there is plenty of space for parking, which is a huge win in my book. You do need a discovery pass to park and visit this park. There are also restrooms at this location which make potty breaks or changing clothes a much easier task. I do believe the restrooms close in the winter.

Great location for any session

I love this location for families, especially for kids who like exploring. The landscape and backdrops make it a beautiful spot for your Senior of Tween sessions too. In the summer, this would be a very dreamy Outdoor Newborn session with the flowers and all the green. Picture the sunset in the background...this makes me happy. Planning on photos soon? Consider Olmstead State Park.

NOTE: the photos below were taken in the month of August.
