Welcome, dear moms-to-be, to the wonderful world of newborn and maternity photography! As you embark on this beautiful journey of capturing the essence of your growing family, it's natural to have a myriad of questions swirling in your mind. Fear not, for I am here to address some of the most common queries I encounter during newborn photo sessions. Let's dive into the magic of freezing these fleeting moments in time!

"What if my baby isn't awake during the session?"

Newborns have their own schedule, and that's perfectly fine! In fact, some of the most enchanting photos are captured when your little one is peacefully asleep, showcasing their angelic innocence. I'm skilled at working with sleepy subjects, ensuring we capture those serene and heartwarming moments that you'll cherish forever. In fact, when you book a newborn photo session with me, I'll walk you though encouraging you baby to be asleep during your session. Have no fear if you little one decides to stay awake. That's beautiful too.

"What if my house isn't clean for an indoor session?"

Worry not about the cleanliness of your home! I'm all about capturing the authenticity of your life, and a little mess adds character. Whether indoors or outdoors, the focus is on your family's love, and I'll make sure the backdrop complements the uniqueness of your story. I'm also really good at aiming the camera away from the mess or finding ways to cut it out.

"My kids are wild, and my husband doesn't like photos. What can I do?"

Embrace the chaos! The energy and dynamics of your family are what make the photos genuine. I have a few tricks up my sleeve to engage even the most camera-shy family members, ensuring we capture authentic smiles and the lively spirit of your loved ones. Remember, our goal is to capture the love your family has and real life. Not some made up, stiff idea of what your family should look like. Trust me, your family is beautiful! Tell your family it is going to be fun and will go by fast! It does!

"When should I schedule maternity/newborn sessions?"

Timing is key! For maternity sessions, the best time is usually around the 7th to 8th month when your baby bump is beautifully pronounced. Newborn sessions are ideally scheduled within the first four or so weeks after birth when your little one is still tiny. Since I have a lifestyle approach to newborn photography, you don't have to worry about baby being less than 2 weeks and moldable. I photograph baby in the poses you actually see you baby in. I will not be molding newborns into tacos. :)

"Do you take Fresh 48 photos, and how does that work?"

Absolutely! Fresh 48 photo sessions are a wonderful way to capture the very first moments of your baby's life in the hospital. It's a candid and intimate documentation of the early hours, preserving the raw emotions and connections as your family welcomes its newest member. These sessions, I'm in and out in about 30 minutes. I really try not to be too invasive and let your family enjoy this special time. I'm more so documenting the freshness of baby and the connection felt at this time.

Conclusion:

Moms, I am honored to be a part of your journey, capturing the love, joy, and uniqueness that make your family special. Remember, photography is not just about creating images; it's about creating memories that last a lifetime. Let's embark on this adventure together and tell your family's story in the most beautiful way possible!
