Growing a baby is beautiful

If you are on the fence about booking a maternity photo session, just do it. This is such a miraculous time in a woman's life. Not only is your beautiful body changing to a new and equally beautiful shape, it is growing a little person or maybe more than one little persons. Growing a baby is beautiful and is worth capturing in all its beauty.

Find a comfortable dress for your maternity session.

Hands down, a dress is going to be the best choice for your maternity photos. There are so many options out there, so you can be sure to get just the style you are looking for. Find something flowy and comfortable. You are pregnant after all. You should be comfortable and a dress should allow you to be. I think the biggest benefit you get with a dress is, no waistband. ;)

You should schedule your maternity session 3-6 weeks before baby's due date.

If you are having a regular pregnancy, planning a maternity photo session three to six weeks before your due date is best. Once you have decided on a photographer, contact them during your second trimester. When you book your maternity session, you will also want to book your newborn session and ask your photographer if they offer a maternity/newborn bundle.

Posing throughout your session will be natural and beautiful.

When it comes to posing, remember you have hired a photographer, so trust them. Hopefully, one reason you chose your photographer was because you trust them and love the poses and photos they have already produced. With lifestyle photography this allows for different and more creative posing options. The focus is on you and your beautiful growing baby bump.

Family members can be in a few photos, but if you want them in more, let's book a family session instead!

This is something you should think about. Is this something you want to have just you? It is a special time to share with your husband and have him in some of the photos as well. Maybe you want a few photos with your other kiddos too. Keep in mind, this is a maternity session, where I am happy to include other family members for some of it. However, plan most or at least half of the time of just mama. Some of my clients upgraded and turned their session into a family session and included the whole crew for the entire session, which was so fun. This is really a decision you have to make. All are beautiful and meaningful.

Cherish this moment

I really hope you plan a maternity photo session. While in the moment of being pregnant it can seem uncomfortable and rough. Capturing your time as an expecting mother and the love you have for this little person you haven't even met, is something I know you will cherish, especially after you have moved on from this stage. Please reach out if you have any questions. CONTACT ME HERE. And since people have babies all times of the year and it can be pretty cold in the winters in Ellensburg, I just want to let you know I photograph outdoor maternity photos as well as indoor maternity photos. Hope this helps.
