Have you ever wondered what would happen next, after you booked a session with your photographer? Has that crossed your mind? Well, if you are like me and like to have a plan, this blog post is for you.
You book your session, then what?
Booking your session is going to mean you and I have picked out a date that works for both of us, then you commit by paying the session fee/deposit. The next steps come along pretty naturally. Like thinking about what your are going to wear. We all know that if you are going to invest in a photographer, you are going to plan what you/your family should wear. You are also going to wonder or already know where the photos will be taken. We will need to chat about that for sure. By this point you will know how the pricing works and the date of your photos. Other quesitons you may have is when and how you will get your gallery full of your session's photos. Let's go through every thing you need to know about your photo session process.
We are going to talk about location.
Maybe you will have a location in mind and maybe you will not. Not to fear, I have plenty of location ideas for you. One I would like to add right here is your own property. Many people around Ellensburg, WA have beautiful land. Are you one of those people? Have you considered photos in your grassy field? Or maybe you have a well kept backyard with a great porch, etc. Make your photos a little more personal by having them at your place.
Let's think about what to wear.
In this case, I have a great blog post to give you some guidance in what to wear for your photo session. I would say, the biggest take away is to avoid neon, sport shorts/pants and logo shirts. You definlety want to be yourself, but look nice and wear something you feel amazing in.
I collect a deposit when you book your session.
I call this deposit your session fee. This fee goes towards my time preparing for your session, taking photos during your session, and getting your photos edited and delivered to you. You will pay this session fee to book and secure your date and time.
You will get an informational email after booking your session and before your session.
This email in full of information like a confirmation on date, planning details with location, where to park and meet at the location, link to my "what to wear guide," and another opportunity for you to ask me questions.
Next we will meet up and take photos!
This is where the fun happens! I have a plan for your session with poses I'll guide you through, but also allow you to be yourself. When I design poses for your session, my goal is to come up with movement that shows family connection and photographs you in flattering ways. My goal is to show love, truth, and real moments of you.
Then you will get to pick your favorites from a private photo gallery.
About 2-3 weeks I'll send you an online photo gallery of all the best photos from your session. I take lots of time going through all the photos taken to pick the very best ones. Then I edit them individually and upload them to your personal online gallery. From there you'll choose your favorite photos and which collection/package your want to purchase. Each collection includes a different number of digital downloads.
Once you choose and purchase your Collection, I'll send you the download for the images you picked.
Once you have those downloaded, you can choose where to order your prints. I do offer the option to order prints from an online store that is attached to your online gallery. The store connected to your online gallery is connected to a high quality photo lab. I like to have this available not only for the quality, but for the convenience. You of course can have your digital images printed wherever you choose. The beauty of having the digitals is you can continue to use these photos year after year. Whether is it on social media, in photo albums, as gifts, or making more prints, they are available to you.
